loop guard - switch

Hi,

We are using cisco core switch RPVST mode.

we normally enabled Root-guard on CoreSwitch trunk port connected to access switch

From Access switch port connected with Core switch, we enable loop-guard

Query is " do we need to enable loop-guard in between x-connect of core switches, as per loop-guard definition - Loop guard must be enabled on the non-designated ports (more precisely, on root and alternate ports) for all possible combinations of active topologies

In my case , For even vlan core switch 1 is root, odd vlan core switch 2 is root.

from Core 1

VLAN0904            Desg FWD 2         128.130  P2p
VLAN0995            Root  FWD 2         128.130  P2p

From Core 2

VLAN0904            Root FWD 2         128.130  P2p
VLAN0995            Desg FWD 2         128.130  P2p

It won't hurt if you configure loopguard on all ports. You can even enable loopguard globally by issuing spanning-tree loopguard default.
