Hello All ,

R1 router has one gigabit ethernet interface (192.168.1.1/30) which is connected to carrier network >>>>then R2 (192.168.1.2/30)

R1 Interface link is looped by carrier .means it lost connectivity to R2 interface.

is there any way i can issue a ping command to verify carrier equipment MTU in between.???

Thanks

RS

If your interface is down I don't think so...where is the traffic going to go and who is going to send it back? You need the interface up and you can just send pings using the the -l option to set MTU sizes.
