4506 switch had experienced low on memory message while taking console. and got below console message
%SYS-2-MALLOCFAIL: Memory allocation of 784 bytes failed from 0x1025F354, alignment 8
Pool: Processor Free: 123028 Cause: Memory fragmentation
Alternate Pool: None Free: 0 Cause: No Alternate pool
It's running in cat4000-i9k91s-mz.122-25.EWA7.bin
tech support has attached. Plz provide the resolution.

The only way to fix that is to reload the switch . It has a slow memory leak and reloading will fix that at least temporarily. I would upgrade it also if possible.

Wow, that's a pretty old IOS. Did you ever consider upgrading to something newer?

Go through the Release Notes and you'll be able to determine if this IOS is suitable.

I haven't found that to be a common problem so once you upgrade unless you have a hardware issue I doubt you will see it again.
