Hi All
I have a very easily answered question.
I have noticed on a 6509 I am working on, that when I do a "show mac-address interface gx/x" no mac address comes back.
If I do a show arp | i x.x.x.x the ip/mac shows up, and from there if I do a show mac-address address | i mac-address, I can see the mac against the interface. But it will still not show up under "show mac-address interface gx/x"
Any ideas as to why this would happen?
Cheers

HI Noel,
Is this happening only for one interface or all the interfaces?
I just check in my device and I am getting proper result:
HTTS-C6K1#sh mac address-table int g5/1
Legend: * - primary entry
age - seconds since last seen
n/a - not available
vlan mac address type learn age ports
------+----------------+--------+-----+----------+--------------------------
Active Supervisor:
* 599 aca0.160a.dcc0 dynamic Yes 0 Gi5/1
C6K1#sh mac
C6K1#sh mac add
C6K1#sh mac address-table | in aca0.160a.dcc0
* 599 aca0.160a.dcc0 dynamic Yes 5 Gi5/1
C6K1#
Can you try to ping any other device from the pc / device connected to this interface and check??
HTH
Regards
Inayath
