Numbers FIRST.  Letters last.

hi,

leo is correct but let me expound a bit.

MAC address can be represented in hexadecimal characters which is from 0-F, with 0 as the lowest and F as the highest.

therefore, in your case, the last hex character 'A' (which is 10 in decimal) is greater than 3.

So when choosing a root switch, 1111.1111.9413 would be the root?

yes, if there's no switch priority set the lower MAC address is preferred the root.
