MAC finding

Hi all,

in two different scenarios 

1. if there is a layer 2 switch in between two routers

2. if the 2 routers are directly connected

in both the cases the ARP is only showing the MAC address of the router interface, HOW CAN I FIND OUT remotely?, if it is traversing through the layer to or directly connected.

Hello,

A Layer 2 switch use transparent bridging, frames are not modified.

Which devices are under your control?

[edit] Obvious solution: shutdown the interface of one router, if the interface on the other router stays up/up -> there is a device between them [/edit]
