MAC Forwarding Issue

pgyogeshkumar

Switch forwards certain packets to some other port although corresponding destination MAC address Learnt in a different port in same switch.

This has been identified when capturing packets using wireshark in a PC connected to the same switch and in same vlan.

Though we dont see lot many packets like this, we could see some packets and some retransmitted packet which is intended to a different destination of same vlan and connected in different port in same switch.

We would like to eliminate this behaviour but couldnt find any thing wrong in switch configuration or in the switch.

Can someone suggest and help on this further please

Hi!

Couldn't find any Bugs that would describe that behaviour.

Could you post a "#show version" of the switch?

What is the setup when you see the behaviour?
On what kind of workstation did you receive the packets and to what kind of workstation should they have been going to?

Best regards
Julian
