Hi,

We want to user more than 255 MDT Data per VRF.

If we configuring more than 255 we get an error Message on the CLI. Is this the maximum per VRF ??

What is the maximum MDT Data on a Sup 720 3B.

Thank

Stephan

Hello Stephan,

yes 255 is the max DATA MDT per VRF see multicast command reference

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipmulti/command/reference/imc_05.html#wp1035809

>> A data MDT group can include a maximum of 256 multicast groups per Virtual Private Network (VPN). Multicast groups used to create the data MDT group are dynamically chosen from a pool of configured IP addresses.

data MDT addresses are used dynamically by those multicast VPN flows that are over the threshold, multiple flows should be able to use the same MDT if they have the same set of interested VRF sites.

each MDT is a different replication topology.

Max number of VRFs is 1024 on sup720.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
