Question about avoiding RSTP race conditions.
What are recommended topologies to avoid RSTP race conditions when reloading root bridge.
Are there some tricks to mitigate RSTP race conditions.

It largely depends on your topology ie. how may redundant links and how the switches are interconnected.
The general recommendation is to keep your topology as simple as possible eg triangles between switches for example.
You may have already read this but follow this link to the pdf and it explains it far better than I ever could -

Yes, this document is quite outstanding. He mentions as alternative Resilient Ethernet Protocol, I think this should work fine. With REP there is no role like a root.
There is also a great paper "Understanding and Mitigating the Effects of Count
to Infinity in Ethernet Networks" from Rice University.
