Module N7K-M148GS-11 removed by fatal error

Hi all,

I had a problem during setup of a new module N7K-M148GS-11 into a Nexus 7000 10-Slot chassis.

The module was powered-dn and removed by platform with the following message:

%XBAR-5-XBAR_STATUS_REPORT: Module 9 reported status for component  88 code 0x40240015.

%MODULE-2-MOD_DIAG_FAIL: Module 9 (serial: XXXXXXXXXXX) reported failure due to Fatal runtime Arb error. (DevErr is bitmap of failed modules) in device 88 (device error 0x100)

do anyone have experimented the same error?

If yes, there is a bug? Do I need to upgrade nx-os? There is a workaround?

Thanks in advance to all will respond.

Giulio

Hi Giulio,

Each linecard on the switch has a link to arbiter asic to the supervisor module. In this particular case, switch has detected a sync-loss in the arbiter asic link.

Try to reseat the card physciallty and if that does not help, replace it.

Kind Regards,

Hi Ivan, thanks for your response!

I tried to reset the module (a full eject and reinsert) but the system refuse to power-up them.

I fear that there is a hardware damage...

Giulio

Welcome, Guilio. Yes, it looks like you would need to replace the module. There is a low chance the chassis slot is the cause, you may try another card in it to test.

Kind Regards,
Ivan
