Monitor Session on multiple switches to Voice Recorder

BrianChernish

I have a pair of Cisco 2960 switches (Stacked) in a VOIP environment. Trying to record the voice traffic.

The current set up is:

monitor session 2 source interface Gi1/0/21 - 22

monitor session 2 source interface Gi2/0/21 - 22

monitor session 2 destination interface Gi1/0/24

monitor session 2 destination interface Gi1/0/24

If this is correct;

Will the traffic that is sent to Gi1/0/24 be identical to the traffic sent to Gi2/0/24

Will all the traffic from both "sources" be sent to both "destinations?

Thanks,

Brian

Hello,

monitor session 2 source interface Gi1/0/21 - 22

monitor session 2 source interface Gi2/0/21 - 22

monitor session 2 destination interface Gi1/0/24

monitor session 2 destination interface Gi1/0/24

If this is correct;

Will the traffic that is sent to Gi1/0/24 be identical to the traffic sent to Gi2/0/24

Will all the traffic from both "sources" be sent to both "destinations?  <  on this case all traffic will be sent to G1/0/24

you have just one destination to session monitor 2.

Check it for more information: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12.2_55_se/configuration/guide/swspan.html#wp1036829

adding to other post :

if all the interface range in one Access VLAN then monitor the VLAN interface is good idea i guess.

also make sure monitor destination interface from access VLAN.
