MSTP Question -

Two switches running two instances of MST. Instance 1 supports vlans 1 and 12.  Instance 2 supports vlans  11 & 13. Both switches support vlan 2 as well and the trunk permits vlan 2 to cross but it is not configured as part of either MST instance. If the switch recieves a frame for vlan 2 on one if its  ports..

1) will Switch #1 forward the frame across the trunk?

2) What will the switch do at the other end?

Hi Jacob,

Can you perhaps post the configuration of the trunk port? The minuscule details of its configuration may impact the result in a deciding way.
