I'm planning to run multiarea ospf on cisco 3750 switch as a redundant path. I'm using 6500 switch for my primary path. Both 6500 and 3750 do ABR and ASBR.
Has any one experience technical problem running multi area ospf on 3750 switch? I want to put 100 - 200 routes on the 3750.

Hello,
I am running a 3560 switch as an ABR+ASBR router. It has about 186 routes in its routing table currently, about 70 LSAs in its OSPF databases in total, and it performs very nicely. Out of 85331216 bytes available to the CPU, 56724312 bytes are free (around 66% free). The box is equipped with 128MB RAM. I would say that if your network is of similar complexity then your 3750 should run fine also.
Best regards,
Peter
