Hello,

I just made a multicast on my cisco 6500 switch, and making transport to another location via trunk. so i made a vlan with set of ip's 192.168.222.0/24

and transport the multicast to the other switch 2950.

Now my switch 6500 is going to 100% cpu utilazation.

any help please?

my config on 6500:

ip multicast-routing

interface Vlan222

ip address 192.168.222.1 255.255.255.0

ip pim sparse-mode

and joined 3 interfaces to the vlan.

regards

Thank you for your answer, but i already read that, and did'nt help me.

Ok, now i just figured this:

When i use 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 fot the vlan network the CPU goes down to 1-2% usage. Then when i try ip 192.16.8.222.1 255 255 255.0 the cpu goes to 10-15% usage, then when i try any set of public ip's on the vlan i get the CPU usage to 99-100% usage.

i don't know how to fix that!

Any ideas please?
