Multicast for IPTV

Hi all dear comunity memebers ,

I have an issue which couldn't find soluation for .

We have an IPTV server & TVs with Cisco 4507R & 2960X switches .

The IPTV Vlan is Vlan 3.

All configuration we have done seems to be correct and all are on the same VLAN 3 .

Here is the configuration on Cisco 4507R core switch & 2960X .

for 2960X configuration is :

interface gi1/0/25 

switchport mode trunk

exit

ip igmp snooping vlan 4

interface gig 1/0/1 

switchport mode access 

switchport access vlan 3

thats it.

Please any help would be appropriated .

Hi,

ip igmp snooping vlan 4

You configured it for vlan 4 but your devices are in vlan 3.

Thanks Reza for the prompt response .

Actually that was mistake in writing but all are configured on VLAN 3 both 2960X and 4507R .

I Also tried it on standalone 2960X but the result is still nothing (nothing is showing in TV also once the IPTV Server is connected to the core switch at the vlan 3 it looses a packet when pinging it.

Will be waiting for your advice

Seems like you have connectivity issue even with ping. Can you post the config for the server and the receiver?

Actually the server configuration is done by another guy , however they tested with small switch tplink switch and connected both the Server & the TV to it & it was working fine .

The problem when we connect the IPTV Server port to the Vlan 3 port at core switch or any other switch it overwhelm the network packets even for pinging or teleneting the 2960x switch it dealys and when pinging it losses packets .

Thanks for your reply ,

There was a problem of IPTV server which is solved right now by the vendor and tested by SG-300 Switch .

Now we have removed the SG300 and connected Cisco 4507R+E Switch with 2960X Lan Base .

the connection between 2960X-lan base and the core is UTP Cat6 configuration is in the attachement .

What we noticed that when connecting more the one STB (Receiver) at the 2960X the pictures disappear .with one STB it works fine for all 100 Channels .

Below are the attached Edge switch (2960X-Lan base switch ).

Also Can i assign an IP for the Vlan 3 at the same range of the IPTV network ? or it snot required ?
