Multicast Nexus 7K

We are having problems with Multicast traffic within one of our Nexus environments.  We have 2 sites that have a pair of Nexus 7K's, one site has hosts our fixed MOH source, the other has a voice gateway attached.  These 2 sites are connected via ASR routers via a point to point connection.  Both ASR's also have connections to our WAN MPLS, which has several locations that also have voice gateways.  Those sites are not having any issues with MOH, I can see that the device joins the stream and call follow the input and output interfaces all the way back to the site hosting the stream.

The Site that isn't working, I can see that the gateway attempts to join the stream and the Nexus shows that as an output interface but there is no input interface, its as it the Nexus doesn't send anything toward the rp.  I have statically configured the RP on all devices.  I have verified that all interfaces in the path to the rp and the source moh ip have ip pim sparse-mode configured.

Any help or debugs that I can run would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Do you have any network topology - where your MOH server located and passing the traffic.

all working one use same path with nexus ?  if you can post working and not working config for refernece. to understand the issue.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

I have attached a basic topology.

On the 7K VPC at the top this is the output when I look for the mroute for the group:

Val_7K_1-Val_7K_Core1# show ip mroute 239.1.1.1
IP Multicast Routing Table for VRF "default"

Group not found
Val_7K_1-Val_7K_Core1# show ip mroute 239.1.1.1
IP Multicast Routing Table for VRF "default"

(*, 239.1.1.1/32), uptime: 00:00:01, igmp ip
Incoming interface: Null, RPF nbr: 0.0.0.0
Outgoing interface list: (count: 1)
Vlan919, uptime: 00:00:01, igmp

That is when I place a call on hold...the gateway is attached on vlan919.  I don't see any incoming interfaces for the stream.

If I place a call that traverses the MPLS (left side) I get MOH and can follow the path, I see that the ASR at site one has both input and output interfaces for the stream.  I never see this past the 7K at the top...

Thanks,

Joe

I do want to add that on the Pair of Nexus in site 2 there are no ip pim neighbors.

Thanks,

Joe
