Multicast RP placement?

Hi,

i have a network that spans over two sites (site A and B), i am planning to deploy an IPTV system that uses multicast, i will place the source in one site (Site A) and this will distribute a multicast stream to clients located in the both sites, i have 6509 in both sites. i have leased line link between the two sites.

My question is what is the best placement for the RP, in site A "close to the source" or in site B "close to the destination"?

Site A close to the source.

This will minimize necessary registration unicast and create the optimal tree topology.
