Hello,
how can i solve my situation?
SW5-------SW4-------SW3-------SW2-------SW1
|
|
239.129.0.1-239.129.0.10
On each SW is connected few STBs. TV is on VLAN 30 and internet is in VLan 50.
Must i enable igmp snooping queuer on each switch? Becouse i want to use IGMP filter on each port that is STB connected!
SW4, SW3, SW2 are Catalyst 3560x
SW5, SW1 are Catalyst 2960S
Thank you very much for help!

Hi,
On the layer-2 switches you need the IGMP snooping querier. Also, the device that is routing between vlan 30 and 50 needs to have PIM enabled on the SVIs.
Use the ip igmp snooping querier global configuration command on the switch stack or on a standalone switch to globally enable the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) querier function in Layer 2 networks. Use the command with keywords to enable and configure the IGMP querier feature on a VLAN interface. Use the no form of this command to return to the default settings.

Thank you,
but the main answer in this situation is if i need to enable the queuer on all switches? Connection between switches is trunked. If i need to enable queuer on all of them, i think i must add an ip or vlan 30 on all switches from the same network.
thanx

Yes, if the switches are layer-2 and you need to span vlan 30 and 50 on all of them, then you need to enable IGMP globally per switch.

Thank you!
Isn`t need any specific config for uplink ports, like MROUTER port selecting?

Hi,
No, you can just enable it globally and that apples it to all the ports.
