Hey folks,
I need to check which process is consuming the most amount of memory on the router. I used the "show memory processor allocating-process totals" command. The output is attached.
The main-thread is consuming more than 13 MB of memory. But what does this "main-thread" mean? How can I define which process (or processes) is consuming this entire amount of memory?
Router Model: Cisco 2911
IOS: c2951-universalk9-mz.SPA.153-3.M5.bin
Thank you very much in advance,
Carlos.

Pretty complicated. I recommend getting help from the TAC, if possible...

Threads are instances generated by certain processes. A single process can generate several threads. Try rebooting the router.

Hi Carlos,
take a look at the following links for a better understand of your problem:
Memory Leaks Troubleshooting
Cisco CLI Analyser
Besides that ... if you have any older logs, then check if this problem is new or already exists.
Hope this helps
