NCS-5501-SE out of the box username and login

Hi All,

We have two NCS-5501-SE boxes that have a password set out of the box. We cant find any default login info and the normal username: cisco password: blank did not work.

We are unable to locate any login details for these boxes has anybody got any out of the box experiance with these parts? Does it have a default user name and password or are we going to have to run the disaster recovery usb procedure? There is a boot menu which i guess is the break for the device can we set the passwords here? Would the NVRAM removal option cause any problems?

We are being cautious as we are unfamiliar with these devices and dont have experiance with them so any help would be appriciated

Hi,

Not familiar with this platform but you may want to look at this document and create a new username and password for the first time. If the device is under a service contract, you can always open a ticket with TAC and have them help you during the process.

It turns out the part has an out of the box username and password of root cisco1
