need help in shaping policy-map with bw gurantee .

hi all ,

assume i have a class map x and i have policy map y

now in have  policy-map y macthed the class x and gave it gurantee bw 1 Mbps

and left the class default without modification.

the quewstion is

how to  give certian limit to the policy-map as all ???

i mean that i want to limit the traffic by shaping it to 2 Mbps ,

how do it ?

can any one give me  sample example ?

what i want to do is , i want to apply    QOS  and in same time i want to limit speed  by shaping to specific value .

i dont want to use police , i will try shape cause it better .

Not sure I understand your question  - However  you dont need to define a specific class-map to shape all traffic, you can use the class-default

policy-map SHAPE

class class-default

shape average 2000000

int xxx

description WAN interface

service-policy output SHAPE

you missunderstood me

assume i have an interface fast0/1

assume topology belwo

lan====f0/1routerf0/0========================internet

max  speed allowed from internet is 4 ADSL Mbps

now

on the lan side

i want to make qos to gurantee bw on nbar protocol and in the same time i dont want the speed reach more than 2 M

i know that i can do policy map thatg match nbar and give it bw gurantee 1m for (2 total)

now how to limit this policy map to 2 M

note that if id didnt limit it , it will reach 4 ,M

but agian
