need some help with time-range command on CBS250-48P-4G

I have a CBS250-48P-4G that I need to daily power cycle poe on a specific interface. I've made the time-range profile, but I can't seem to figure out how to run the profile when the duration is more than a day.

Currently, the time-range profile can only be added to 'power inline auto' and I can't add it to 'power inline never' which is a problem because when time-range is applied to 'power inline auto time-range profile-name-here' the port has power until the time matches what is listed in the profile. My current time-range profile isn't rebooting the port how I expect, here is my current time-range profle

periodic list 06:00 to 05:58 all

Basically, I'd like to cycle power on the port at 6am on Monday and on Tuesday it should power cycle at 5:58am. I can't flip the times to start the power at 5:58am (off) and 6:00am on because the periodic option doesn't work that way.

I can also build this profile:

periodic mon 06:00 to tue 05:58

I am confident will work, but that will only work for 1 day of the week. I can't apply multiple profiles to an interface.

I have a non-cisco switch (in another location) that uses the 'poe disable time-range' command which makes more sense and I was able to quickly create a profile on that switch to disable poe at 5:58am until 6am and it woks perfect. Cisco seems to be backwards and/or missing he option to disable.

Can anyone assist with a time-range option that will power cycle the port daily at 5:58am and turn power back on at 6am?

Thanks.

Edit- It looks like you can add more profiles to a range, I thought I tried, maybe I got the syntax wrong or did not properly understand how to do it in the CLI. When editing range1 in the web GUI I used the + icon to keep adding profiles (or ranges) but they were all nested under range1.

My initial range via CLI was

'periodic list 06:00 to 05:58 all' which didn't seem to be working

However, from the web GUI it didn't seem to be possible to add the recurring range1 profile to a port, it seems that it was only possible to add an absolute range to a port. I logged into the CLI and added range1 to the port I need to cycle.

This is what time-range range1 looks like

periodic mon 06:00 to tue 05:58

periodic tue 06:00 to wed 05:58

periodic wed 06:00 to thu 05:58

periodic thu 06:00 to fri 05:58

periodic fri 06:00 to sat 05:58

periodic sat 06:00 to sun 05:58

periodic sun 06:00 to mon 05:58

interface looks like this

interface gigabitethernet1

power inline auto time-range range1

@cisco-newb

Seems to me that CBS is made for web interface. Not sure if you tried  there.

I believe if you set different years and months, the time will follow every day on that time range.

I'm not seeing how absolute will work. I tried absolute via CLI and it didn't have the options I was looking for. Absolute doesn't have a daily option. I can check the web interface tomorrow, but the CLI should be able to do everything the web interface can do, I would think, but maybe I am wrong.

The periodic time-range option does have a daily option (all) but it doesn't work (from what I can tell) when the start and stop times are on different days.

Thanks.

Yes, probably will not change much. The limitation is to select days of the week. It will work well for a period but as soon as you do this for the whole period.

Ok, I will take a look at this and let you know. It sounds like you are saying that the web GUI has more options than the CLI, which usually isn't the case, but I will give it a shot.

Thanks.

I can't even find time-range in the web GUI.

LOL....you need to select advanced  on the right top.

Thank you. I'm remotely connected to a PC on site and I don't see the full screen w/o scrolling up/down and left right in the remote

Ok, I got to this screen. This is only for absolute start and absolute end, this is not what I'm looking for, I'm looking for daily.

I found the recurring range section and I made a range, but I don't see how I can apply a recurring range to a port, yet.

viewing program. Checking now for the time setting now that I'm in advanced menus.

Edit- Ok, I got to the port settings and selected the interface I want to cycle. I see the range1 option, but range1 is the same name for absolute range and recurring range. However, when I click the edit button, it takes me to time range absolute page so it seems I can only add an absolute time range, which will not work because I can't run it daily unless I'm missing something obvious where I can select daily.

Fair enough.   If I find something I let you know

Thanks for your help, I just don't think it can be done. If they allowed for a port to have multiple time-range profiles, I could make a profile for each day, but as I see it, now, you can only apply one time-range.

The other option would be to have it disable power for the time-range profile. It seems that the time-range profile is only for the power on option.

Or, I'm just missing something obvious and can't figure it out.
