Need to reset port every time we reboot the server

We have an old 3650 switch with one server and a handful of workstations attached to it.  The server is attached to GigabitEthernet 1/0/1, every time we reboot the server we have to manually reset port 1/0/1 either by issuing the "no shut" command or by simply unplugging the copper cable from port 1/0/1 and plugging it back in.  We already disabled the spanning-tree protocol, hard coded the speed, duplex and automatic flow-control.  Port security is not enabled on this port.  Any idea what may be causing this issue?

What is the result to the command "sh interface G1/0/1 status err"?

how is your config look on the ports - shows run gig 1/0/1, do you know the reason why the port shutdown? (what log you see)

this could be due to a handshake with the Server NIC card, try any New Drivers on Server Side?

Also, consider the EEM script, when you see the port Gig1/0/1 down, let the EEM script does up for you.

Hello,

check the NIC adapter options (similar to the screenshot)...

mac-address-table static xxxx.xxxx.xxxx vlan x interface x

try add static mac of server to interface.

Well, it was the firewall causing this issue; we moved the server and workstations to a dumb switch and the problem persisted, we started playing with the server's firewall and the issue was resolved.  It does not make any sense at all but that did it.  Anyways, thank you all for your help, very much appreciated.

Sure i was expected that - anyway glad you able to fix the issue
