need to upgrade cisco 3560G switch ios

I need to upgrade my cisco 3560G 8 port poe switch .

any idea how to do this?

also which one do i choose to use?

Please confirm is this an old 3560G 8 or a new While color 3560C?

what is the current version running?  It going to end of Live May 2021

if old : good  IOS i still stick with -  12.2.55-SE12 MD

1. Copy the new xxx.bin file to a usb drive
2. Check to see if you have space for the new software -
   show flash:
   show version  < this will show you the existing file information 
   show boot
3. install usb drive
   copy usb:xxxx.bin flash:
   verify /md5 flash:xxxx.bin
4. conf t
   no boot
   boot system flash:xxxxx.bin  <new .bin file)
   exit
5. wr mem
6. reload

What is the reason for the upgrade? make sure you read the release notes and understand the bugs and caveats.

The latest Gold is  15.2.2E10 MD

WTF.  No!

Do NOT "upgrade" the firmware using the BIN file.  NO!

If you do not know what you are doing, ALWAYS download the TAR file.  Use the following command to PROPERLY extract the files: 

archive download-sw usbflash0:IOS_filename.tar

That is it.  No need to "check the MD5" or "copy this to there".  Do that command and the script will do everything for you.  

Never (ever!) use the BIN file unless you know exactly how to fix stuff when the BIN file breaks!

Hello, I'm connecting to this old discussion; I need help to find the correct fw to update my CATALYST C3560G (WS-C3560G-24PS-S). The command sh ver shows:

Cisco IOS Software, C3560 Software (C3560-IPBASE-M), Version 12.2(35)SE5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

 What should I upload? The model is an old blue one (not white). Thanks a lot for help.
