Need verification / help

Hey all,

Need some help / guidance.

I have 2 x SG350x-48p's. IPv4 port forwarding is turned on. VLans 10, 20, 30 all need to talk to each other. From my understanding this model of switch is in layer 3 by default so the vlans should talk to each other no problem?

SW1 192.168.1.1

SW2 192.168.1.2

VLANS are setup the same on each switch

  • vlan 10 ports 1 - 10 (ip set to 192.168.10.1 ) is this ip good or should it be something else?
    • all devices on this VLAN are in the 192.168.10.x range
  • vlan 20 ports 11 - 21 (ip set to 192.168.20.1 ) is this ip good or should it be something else?
    • all devices on this VLAN are in the 192.168.20.x range
  • vlan 30 ports 21 - 31 (ip set to 192.168.30.1 ) is this ip good or should it be something else?
    • all devices on this VLAN are in the 192.168.30.x range
  • vlan 90 port 42 - trunk to allow management of switches (3 vlans added to trunk)

2 x SFP ports setup as trunks between the 2 switches.

Does this look correct? Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help

Let me correct based on my understanding.

SW1 192.168.1.1  - this is working already with the Layer 3 interface on this.

you adding the below switch as Layer 2 ? (SW2 192.168.1.2)

SW1 192.168.1.1   --Trunk ( allow required VLAN to connect Layer 3)  SW2 192.168.1.2   ---users with different VLAN connected to access port.

yes, this works (make sure you have Layer 2 trunk no Layer 3 point to point between switches.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hello

Yes it does however what are you port-forwarding, As long as ip routing is enabled on the switch those vlans and its host should be able to communicate with each other without any port-forwarding.

VLAN 10 will have Qsys audio

VLAN 20 will have Extron NAV (AV over IP)

VLAN 30 will have extron control/touchpanels. Really only this VLAN needs to talk to VLAN 10 and VLAN 20

VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 will each have the specific settings that QSYS and Extron require for their devices. (IGMP snooping, etc)
