I just purchased some C3KX-SM-10G modules to allow us to do Netflow on our 3750x switches. I am being told the only transceivers you can install on these modules is fiber. I typically enable netflow on the uplink to our MPLS for these remote sites. The uplinks are all copper/RJ45 connections.
Does installing these modules enable netflow across the entire switch or only the ports connected to the module?
Is it true that the copper RJ45 connections are not compatible?
Thanks

I'm fairly sure GLC-T (1G copper) SFPs are supported in the C3KX-SM-10G, per http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750x_3560x/hardware/install/notes/net_mod_note.html - Table 3

can you point out which one is RJ45 1 GB transceiver?

GLC-T (10/100/1000) like below on amazon cat5 & 6 support

I don't see which one you are talking about? Right now I am trying to use fiber 1 GB and using a fiber patch cord to loop interface so it will come up then mirroring the interface I want netflow on to the module. Kind of sucks so it would be great if I could use a standard 1 GB RJ45 gbic.

Hi Jason.
Eventrually are cooper transceivers GLC-T compatible with C3KX-SM-10G?
12-28-2017 05:13 AM
Hi Jason,
You can use either cooper transceivers GLC-T 1G or fiber transceivers GLC-SX-MM 1G or SFP-10G-SR on the respective module port all are compatible with C3KX-SM-10G module, them you can enable netflow.

I haven't worked with one of those modules, but I recall (?) it only supports Netflow on the module's ports. Checking some Cisco documentation (some also noted by the other posters), there's conflicting information about support for copper transceivers. However, the documentation also seems to say Netflow will only work on the module's ports.
"The new Cisco Service Module offers enhanced security and Flexible NetFlow (FNF) features on the uplink ports of the Cisco Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X." From: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-3750-x-series-switches/product_bulletin_c25-688868.html
Also looking at the "Transceiver Modules Compatibility Matrix", for both gig and 10g, I don't see any copper transceivers listed for that module.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/compatibility/matrix/GE_Tx_Matrix.html
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/compatibility/matrix/10GE_Tx_Matrix.html
Interestingly, the product info also notes 15.0(1)SE is needed, while the transceiver matrix references start with 12.2(53)SE. Further, "Installation Notes'" Table 3 (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750x_3560x/hardware/install/notes/net_mod_note.html) excludes the GLC-T from the C3KX-NM-10G but not the C3KX-SM-10G. Also this document also notes "The service module supports Net Flow and MACSec Uplink Encryption (switch- to-switch encryption between uplinks). "
Possibly the only way to tell for sure is to try it. Also possibly if a copper transceiver doesn't work, perhaps enabling "service unsupported-transceiver" would allow it to work, although w/o Cisco support.
