Hi Guys,
we have been considering buying some used Catalyst 9300/9500 for testing purposes, but we are not sure if the license level of the network stack will be maintained. So for example Network Essentials, Advantage or Premier.
We have had some outputs sent to us (attached as txt). It seems that the license level purchased by the first owner will continue to run in evaluation mode for the time being, but we wonder what happens after that or if we can add it to our Smart Account (SA).
In the past, we had problems with this because some devices were still assigned to the SA of the previous owner...
Does someone know more or can share his experiences?
Thanks and greetings!

This is tricky question, i belive you need to contact License team and transfer of ownership can be done i guess.
All new world of cisco devices need to be smart license, so it will contact cisco smart license server to register, that mean Devce need to have Internet Access, or you can have local smart license sattelite server, so LAN device connect to satellite server, and Satellite server interns required to access smart license server.
what License you need based on organisation and where these device deployed. if pure Layer 2/ Access device Essential good enough. if you need more feature Advantage required if you looking full DNA.
