Network with differing MTUs

Hi,

So I have the following network topology:

(R0,hosts)(0)---------(1)R1(1) ------(A)CISCO3850(A)-------(B)CISCO3750-----(R2, hosts)

Everything to the left of R1 has ethernet MTU of 9114 and IP MTU of 9100.

Everything to the right of CISCO3750 has standard MTU (IP 1500, Ethernet 1514)

The problem is how do I configure the CISCO3850 in the middle?

From what I gathered so far I can set the system MTU to 9114 on CISCO3850 but from what I understand this is the Ethernet MTU size. which will make it incompatible with the CISCO3750 which is running on default values.

How can I configure the segment AB to use the same Ethernet MTU? The vlan commands for CISCO only seems to allow settings for IP MTU. R1 is a different branded switched and in order to make segment 1A work I need the CISCO3850 to run on Ehernet MTU 9114, but changing the system MTU changes the Ethernet MTU for all interfaces...

Has anyone done anything similar?

Please correct me if my understanding is not correct.

Thanks!
