Nexus 5k load balance to non cisco routers

Hi,

Weird title but here goes, We have two 5k's they are linked to each other via their respective management ports, we will call them switch-a and switch-b. Attached to these are two routers (not Cisco) both routers have a leg into each switch as below.

switch-a eth1/7 - router-a gi0/01

switch-a eth1/8 - router-b gi0/0/1

switch-b eth1/7 - router-a gi0/0/2

switch-b eth1/8 - router-b gi0/0/2

these are routed interfaces and we are running ospf between the 5k's and the routers, each router has a single wan interface from a different isp.

My question is (I'm not a 5k kind of guy) can the 5k's do some form of load balancing to the routers ands what would that config look like ?

The 5k's have L3 daughter cards.

Regards

Scott.

The 5ks should do load balance as long as you have OSPF equal costs for all your connections.

To verify you can use "sh ip route".  The output should show you that you have 2 next hop addresses in the routing table with equal cost/metric. By default Cisco devices do load balancing per destination. Here is a good document on load balancing:
