Nexus FEX primary fabric

Hi

It appears that I have a problem with vpc connections to a single fex and the fex not showing any primary fabric port information. All the documentation I have read tells me that when I issue this command:

switch# show fex 100 detail

I should see this:

Fabric port for control traffic: Eth1/29

Fabric interface state:

Po100 - Interface Up. State: Active

Eth1/29 - Interface Up. State: Active

Eth1/30 - Interface Up. State: Active

Fex Port      State      Fabric Port      Primary Fabric

Eth100/1/1      Up      Po100                Po100

Eth100/1/2      Up      Po100                Po100

Eth100/1/3      Up      Po100                Po100

etc etc etc

But when I issue the command, all i see is this:

Fabric port for control traffic: Eth1/19

  FCoE Admin: false

  FCoE Oper: true

  FCoE FEX AA Configured: false

  Fabric interface state:

Po100 - Interface Up. State: Active

Eth1/19 - Interface Up. State: Active

Eth1/20 - Interface Down. State: Configured

  Fex Port        State         Fabric Port

  Eth100/1/1     Down           None

  Eth100/1/2     Down           Po100

  Eth100/1/3     Down           Po100

There are no Primary Fabric listed. - Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

Hi,

Can you post your config?

Hi,

What is the code that you are using the in the Nexus devices, and please post your "show run fex" configuration in order to verify the status of this.

Regards,

Robert Rodriguez

Hi Steve,

Your configuration is correct one and your FEX is showing up.

The output that is the documentation is from code 4.2 where it was showing the "Primary Fabric" option, in your code that doesn't show up anymore in the new codes.

You shouldn't concern about this situation.
