Nexus Migration Cat6500 to N77K

Hi

I'm migrating from a single Cat6503 to a pair of Nexus 770x switches.

Due to end of support & expensive renewal costs the client is also replacing their ESX hosts & SAN environment.

What I would like to know is if it is possible to temporarily connect the N77K's to the 6500 (where the default gateways currently reside) & temp run layer-2 to the N77K's.  The new ESX/ SAN environment could then be built quickly off the end of N77K's.  Is this feasible & also using VPCs?  Once this is complete & replacement security appliances are also built the default gateway would then be migrated to the N77K's.

Thanks in advance.

HI,

yes you can do it. as per the network diagram. And once you remove 6500 you can install M1 card on 7K and it will support L3 function.
