No console access on Cisco switch

Hello: I recently received an ASA 5505, which I can use as a switch, and I started to learn the switch configuration. but I can't connect swich to console.

I also installed the cisco usb console driver, but still got the same error.

• Does your Serial connection work to *any* other system? 
• You talk about the switch config. Does your login to the ASA on SSH/ASDM work?
• You mention that you get an error; which error?

Yes this connection confirmed itself by working on other systems. 

Don't I need to connect to the console first to configure this switch?

Did you power up the ASA with the console connected? Do you see anything?

Did you press return after connecting the cable?

Yes i tried everything. cable works fine. and Power, Status, active leds also light up.

I assume it is a used device. Perhaps the speed was changed to something else. Although you often see "strange characters" on the screen when the speed is wrong, I would also try other speeds, starting with 115200 and testing down.

have you tried below Option :

Configure the PC terminal emulation software or terminal for 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit.

as per information you confirmed console cable working  - so i suspect the ASA  Console port may be faulty ?
