No switchport: command rejected, not allowed on this interface(3560X)

I got great help from experts here, so I just keep asking for help on our new catalyst 3560X switch(12.2(58)SE1).

Purpose: Intervlan routing,

actions taken:  I created Vlan10 with 10.10.1.1/24; vlan20 with 10.20.1.1/24 on this new switch, IP routing enabled, Vlan 1 is 10.1.10.2/24  for management

Problem: on a new port ( unconfigured ):

>interface GigabitEthernet0/24

>no switchport

command rejected, not allowed on this interface

I have googled a while but couldn't firgured out why this command is rejected, what should I prepare the port before I can run "no switchport"?

Any suggestions and advises are greatly appreciated.

  Please post "show version" , "show license detail" and "show run interface g0/24".

so now I think it's a license problem? becuase I upgraded the IOS, it's now lanbase (before it's IPbase).........

Routed Ports

A routed port is a physical port that acts like a port on a router; it  does not have to be connected to a router. A routed port is not  associated with a particular VLAN, as is an access port. A routed port  behaves like a regular router interface, except that it does not support  VLAN subinterfaces. Routed ports can be configured with a Layer 3  routing protocol. A routed port is a Layer 3 interface only and does not  support Layer 2 protocols, such as DTP and STP.

Note : Routed ports are not supported on switches running the LAN base feature set.

I have the same problem. What license is needed to use the "routed ports" function on my

WS-C3560X-48?

Do you also know roughy the cost?

I expected this function to be included when I bought a Layer3 swich.

Hello Dario, you will need an ip base license at minimum I think. You should have had the option to purchase the switch with the license. If no license was requested they just ship out a basic LAN license with the switch. Please contact your reseller for a quote on a suitable license for you, I'm not entirely sure what they cost.
They should also be able to advise you on which license you need for any requirements you may have.

Here below my version. What is the code of the upgrade to buy? I need to route 5 VLANS.

From the output of the command, it looks like my license is lanbase but my image is IPBASE.

Hello Dario, the output shows you are on a LAN base feature set even though you have software supporting ip base.

You will just need the ip base licence to accomplish what you want to do.
