Hi,

Yes, it seems the limit was increased in later releases. I have done a quick search and limit was bumped up to 512 vlans in 4.1(2)E1(1)  and later.

Kind Regards,
Ivan

Hi,

This switch tested limit is of 256 vlans. This includes 5 reserved vlans and 251 user configured vlans.

NX-OS enforces this limit and you cannot create more than that. Looking at your resources, you have already used up all of them:

Nexus_5010# sh resource vlan

Resource               Min       Max      Used    Unused     Avail

    -----------            -----     -----    ------  --------   -------

     vlan                    16       256       256         0         0

Ivan

Active VLANs/VSANs per switch

504

(504 when FCoE is enabled)

31 are set aside for VSANs and the remaining are for VLANs.

4013

Though it s for different software. My questions are -

1. Does max vlan dpends on software ?

2. Will I be getting 507 supported VLAN if i upgrade the software of my switch from 4.0 to 5.0 ?
