Hello,

the below should work:

Globally:

mac-address-table notification
snmp-server enable traps mac-notification

Interface(s):

interface range fastEthernet 0/1-48
snmp trap mac-notification added

Will this be sending logs to syslog server or SNMP servers

Prime Infrastructure can do this.

How can we perform it using Prime . Can you share any document or any other details.

1. Go to Settings (circle with three bars on the upper left-hand corner) > Monitor > Monitoring Tools > Clients and Users.
2. Filter the MAC address you want.
3. Above the column, choose the option "Track Clients".

4.  Enter the necessary details.

Don't forget to rate our useful post(s).

On a side note, be aware that as to my best knowledge Prime is quite expensive (500 device license is about $9,000), so if all you want is MAC address notification, it might be overkill.

Unless the pricing has changed significantly recently...:)

Hi Leo,

Can we do it with out SNMP configuration.I need to get a syslog on the syslog server which have SNMP enabled on it and we dont have cisco prime
