Null0 Static route tracking using IP SLA and Track

1. There is an edge router called router-A whose upstream OSPF neighbor is the firewall via an L-2 connection (switch). There is a VLAN running between the firewall interface and router-A

2. On router -A I have 4 null0 static routes to originate and advertise networks out of bgp to service provider

3. If the VLAN disappears from the OSPF routing table I want the Null0 to be pulled out as a result I wont be able to advertise the summary network statements via bgp

What I did:

1. Created a track to "track ip route-VLAN"

2. Associated the track with the static routes of null0

Question:

When I do show track, I see Reachability is up and connected but when I see tracked by: Static IP routing the number is 0

Is there anything I am missing ?

The output looks correct to me. You may want to test during a maintenance window if this is in production.

What is the output of "sh track interface"?

Does it show null0?

HTH

I think for static ip routing it is always 0

STATIC-IP-ROUTING 0

HTH

My show track output says the following

Track4

IP route 10.x.x.x y.y.y.y reachability

Reachability is up (connected)

1 change, last change 00:35:02

First-hop interface is gig0/0/1

Tracked by:

Static IP routing 0

The output looks correct to me. You may want to test during a maintenance window if this is in production.

Sounds good.
