The Cisco license documention does not indicate a limit on the number of VRF's with the base license. The maximum configuration docs shows the N5K's are verified for 25 VRF's with a maximum of 1000.
Does anyone know if the base license limits the number of VRF's?

Correct, the maximum number of supported vrf is 1000

Reza, does the basic license (N55-BAS1K9) limit the number of VRF's? Is an Enterprise license (N55-LAN1K) required for the maximum numbers of VRF's?

David,
The basic license doesn't include VRF. If you need VRF, you need N55-LAN1K9.
