NX-7000 MGMT INT

Hello,

If I already assigned an IP address to mgmt0 on SUP1 and connected it to the network, is there another mgmt int for SUP2 to assign an IP address to?

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/hw/nexus7000/installation/guide/n7k_connecting.html#wp1054605

Note

In a dual supervisor switch, you can ensure that the active supervisor module is always connected to the network by connecting the management interface on both supervisor modules to the network. That way, no matter which supervisor module is active, the switch automatically has a management interface that is running and accessible from the network.

Thanks, ~sK

Hi,

When you have 2 sups, you only assign an IP address to the primary sup.  When the primary fails the stand-by sup will take over the IP address that was assigned to the primary.  Make sure to enable port fast on the switche ports where you are connecting the 7ks mgmt ports.
