Hello,

I would like to know if the following command, when applied on a router, will affect all its local  routes and redistributed routes or its local routes only:

Does offset-list 0 out 5 fa0/0 affect only routes in the local routing table or routes from other protocols as well asuming the router is enabled for rip and ospf

Thank you.

router rip

version 2

offset-list 0 out 5 fa0/0

exit

Hello,

An offset-list applied as you suggested will affect all routes advertised out the Fa0/0 interface - both local (internal to RIP) and redistributed. However, an offset-list is supported only for distance-vector routing protocols: RIP and EIGRP. It is not supported nor available in link-state protocols as OSPF and IS-IS.

Best regards,

Peter
