Hi
My client has a 6506-E which purchased in 2009. They plan to install a 10G module (C6800-32P10G) in the 6506-E chassis.
I know the new 6506-E chassis is compatible with C6800-32P10G. I'm not sure if this old 6506-E (purchased in 2009) is also compatible with C6800-32P10G
Any idea?
Regards,
Eric

Hi,
It should work in the 6509-E as long as you have one of the following sups and enough power.

I know the new 6506-E chassis is compatible with C6800-32P10G.
This line card is only compatible with a 6807-X chassis.
If 10 Gbps is required, then the following line cards are supported on the 6500E chassis (take note of the required Supervisor card):
This line card has 32 ports of 10 Gbps. With Sup2T, the 6500E chassis can support up to 80 Gbps per slot. Sticking a 32 port SFP+ line card into a slot that will support only 80 Gbps is good way to waste money.

Hi Leo,
It does support 6500-E series
