Is this using real switches because I have just tested with 3750s and a trunk link comes up fine.
The native vlan should match on both ends but it wouldn't stop a trunk forming if they didn't, you would just have joined two vlans together which is not what you want to do.
By the way I am assuming this is one of those Cisco test questions as you would never use that sort of configuration on a production network.
