Hello all,
I'm looking to set the reference bandwidth on all my OSPF devices to account for 100gb links by using the router config command
auto-cost reference-bandwidth 100000.
Unfortunately, the ASAs in my network don't appear to support this command. I don't think it will cause them an issue but can anyone offer guidance on how devices that don't support a reference-bandwidth setting (such as the ASA) may interact with devices that do? I have yet to find any relevant info.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Hi,
You can make good use of "ospf cost xxx" interface configuration command as alternative.
HTH...rate if helpful..

Hi,
Yeah, I know I can set the interface cost with the ASA and I probably will, but I'm looking for info on what a best practice might be. Everything I read says all OSPF routers should have the same reference bandwidth but doesn't explain what may happen if a device doesn't support it.
Thanks for the comment and take care!
