Hello there,
I've been doing a project of mine, and this is a follow up of my previous post. I am close to finishing this project of mine and the last thing I needed to do was set each of the PC's email configurations. I tried composing a mail from a mail then tried sending it to any of the other PC's connected to the network, and even within the building itself. But when I do an error saying "Server not Found" appears. Attached below is my file. PS I'm quite a beginner with networking, if you have any other suggestions with concern to my network, please do tell me :). Any help is much appreciated thank you!

Hello,
on the DHCP server, just make '2' the starting address, so '1' does not get assigned.
Either way, your problem is that you did not specify a 'Domain Name' in your email server. On the mail server, go to 'Services' --> 'EMAIL' and fill in the 'Domain Name' field.

Hello,
make sure the passwords on the server and the PC actually match. Also, try without passwords and see if that works. Could be a flaw/quirk in Packet Tracer.

Hello,
you have a flat network with all IP addresses belonging to subnet 172.16.0.0/16. Just by looking at your IP addressing, I saw that the PC in the lower right corner has an IP address of 172.16.0.1 and the gateway is set to that same IP address. Correct the IP address of that PC.
How exactly do you send a mail, and from which IP to which IP ?

How do I fix that exactly? Should I extend the maximum usable hosts in the dhcp server?
I intent to send the mail through the desktop app and for example: from perfDean@mail.slu.edu.ph to silangDean@mail.slu.edu.ph or literally just to anybody in the network.

FYi
The ip address assigned to the physical interface that the dhcp scope relates to is automatically excluded, no need to manually excluded it.

Not in Packet Tracer. It just assigns the first IP address in the scope, regardless of the IP address assigned to the physical interface. Probably just another quirk, on real routers it actually does work the way you described.

Works like a charm thank you!
Last question, I'm now getting an SMTP authentication error after I have set the domain name. What could be the cause of it?

Hello,
when you click on a user in 'Services' --> 'EMAIL', did you set a password ?
