Hi All,
I have 2 3750-x's in a stack configuration. I have two servers which lost heartbeats with each other a few days a go Each server has each NIC going into one port of the stack.
Gi1/0/9 and Gi2/0/9 which plugs into one of the servers has a large "Pause Input" count which is negative. So looks like:
-231241434 Pause Input
I know pause inputs is the connected device sending a pause command. What could be the cause of this?

If you are getting a NEGATIVE value in your interface counters, it's a an IOS bug.
What IOS version are you using.

Hi Leo
Thanks for the reply. Show version shows = 12.2(53r)se1.
Is this a reporting bug or a bug which affects the system operation?

Errrr ... That's your IOS? Geez. Count yourself lucky your switch doesn't have any issues.
12.2(53)SE-series IOS is one of the worst I've ever tested.
If I was to recommend a good IOS, it'll be 12.2(55)SE9.

I had a feeling that an upgrade may help the situation and im currently going through change management to get this actioned.
Would you not recommend running 15.x yet?

If you really want to go 15.X then stick with 15.0(2)SE4. But my first choice will be 12.2(55)SE9.
