Hi,
On a 4507 v12.2(20)EW, the connected subnets which are declared in the ospf instance are not propagated to the MPLS carrier router.
Only the static routes which are redistributed in the ospf instance are propagated to the MPLS carrier router.

Does your service provider ask you to create a BGP peer with them or an OSPF peer? Sounds
like it's redistributing static routes into thte MPLS network and not the connected subnets.

We might understand the issues better if the original poster would provide more information. In particular it would help if we could see the configuration of OSPF and see the output of show ip ospf interface and see the output of show ip interface brief.

They are doing an ospf peer. They ask to declare the subnets in the ospf instead instead of adding redistribute connected subnets. It seems that this last command does not match their needs.
The ospf instance is
router ospf 1
log-adjacency-changes
redistribute static metric-type 1 subnets

Is this configuration above from the router that has an OSPF peer relationship with the ISP? It almost sounds like
the OSPF peer at the MPLS PE, is not correctly redistributing your networks. Did they inform you that they would
only redistribute static routes? Since you have an OSPF peer relationship with the MPLS CE, then the networks should
be seen on the ISP peer, unless they have some sort of filtering going on. They should be redistributing that into the MPLS
Cloud.
01-18-2012 10:00 AM
The configuration is working on other sites where our core switches are 3750. On other sites, they receive the conneceted subnets when they are delclared directly in ospf instance.
01-18-2012 10:37 AM
Have u contacted your service provider? They should b receving your routes unless some sort of filtering is going on. Can you verify the ospf neighbor/adjacency with the ISP?
01-18-2012 11:18 AM
Thank you for the additional information which I requested. It is quite helpful in understanding the issue. If you check the output of show ip ospf interface you will find that all of the interfaces have zero neighbors. So you are running OSPF but with no neighbors you are not sending any updates.
I am not sure how the carrier is seeing the static routes but it is not from the OSPF that you have showed us.
Which of these interfaces is the one where the carrier is connected?

Good find Richard. It appears as if that would be the issue.
01-18-2012 11:55 PM
There is no ospf neighbor because the provider router is stopped. It was a migration to this new provider. So we came back to the previous situation. Its for that reason you do not see provider router in the list.
I confirm that during the migration I was with the provider engineer, we do not find any reason of the problemn. I m waiting for the engineer. He will reactivate only the Lan interface of the router. We will be able then to check the ospf redistribution
01-19-2012 06:23 AM
We can only help troubleshoot what you have shown us. You describe a problem and give us certain information about the problem. In what you have shown us the problem is that there was no neighbor relationship with the carrier. If that is not the real problem then you need to supply information that correctly reflects the real problem.
If you recreate the problem then at that time please give us updated information that reflects the problem. It should include at a minimum the configuration of OSPF, the output of show ip ospf interface, and the output of show ip ospf, and of show ip ospf neighbor.
