Ping drops step wise troubleshooting

Three switches ( Switch A, Switch B, Switch C) are connected in row PC A is connected to switch A and PC C to Switch C.

There is packet loss when we ping from PC A to PC C how to troubleshoot this issue.

Hello,

Most common problem is speed duplex mis match and improper cabling.

 

straight through cable should be used from pc to switch.

Cross over cable should be used from switch to switch.

speed and duplex needs to be set the same on both ends of the link.  Auto-Auto or hard coded on both ends.  Preferably auto.  

show interface on each port in the path and look for errors.
