Hi,

I have cisco WS-C2960G-24TC-L with IOS c2960-lanbasek9-mz.150-2.SE6.bin

I am facing Ping not responding issue once I applied  NO IP HOST-ROUTING command.

Switch stopped pinging after applying this command. Please help.

You probably need to add a "ip default-gateway a.b.c.d" command.

Hi,

IP default -gateway is already configured in switch. I have multiple switches with same mode and IOS running in my environment and i have disable no ip host-routing but i haven't faced such issue before.please suggest

Try rebooting the switch then.  It may have just gotten into a sick state.

Hi Dath,

Once i have give this command.. it stopped pinging and then i have to manually reboot it.So i have rebooted multiple times...

From where are you trying to ping the switch and how the connectivity is ?

Hi ajar,

There is fiber connectivity between switches. OSPF is running in our environment. That Switch is in different area and i am trying from my PC which is in different area.

Access SW1--->B Switch(L3-OSPF Running)--->Access SW2--->PC

I am not able to ping Switch A from My PC once I perform..No ip host-routing.

Once More thing what i am observing , i am able to ping Switch SW1 from B Switch(L3) as they are in same Network. but I am not able to ping from PC although gateway is defined in SW1

Ranjan,

check if the default gateway from the PC is set properly or not. And then verify if you are able to reach SW2 from PC. if there are any vlan's created in SW2, verify if the PC is part of the specified vlan to which the port on switch is binded.

I understand that SW1 and SW2 are in 2 different area's , do you have the ospf virtual neighborshop between these 2 different areas to area 0 ?

Hi Ajar,

I am able to reach SW2 from my PC as well as other switches which are in same subnet of SW1

SW1 and SW2 are connected with Area 0.I dont' think it's routing issue as other swicthes are reachable from my PC.
