pinging Problem

Hi, i am on a Vlan10, trying to connect to another Vlan20 through a router, and the switches i used are being connected in a trunk way, i could ping the pcs with the Vlans, but couldnt ping from my Vlan10 to Vlan20

Hi Friend,

Can you brief how the setup looks like and you are trying to ping from switch itself or from some machine?

As you mentioned you are having a router to talk between vlan 10 and 20, I hope you might have configured subinterfaces and encapsulation dot1q with vlan number under respective subinterfaces?

Hi Tam,

since you say that you could able to ping the pc's within the vlan, but not vlan to other vlan, then probably make sure that you have enabled "ip routing" in ur switch, once if it is enabled u can able to communicate other vlans also.
