Please help me

Hi

  • I have two Cisco 2960-x switches, one with 24 ports and one with 48 ports, both of which are poe. I want to connect my hp m402dne printer to the network. When I connect the printer to the 24-port switch, the printer's ethernet light turns on without any problems and it receives a DHCP IP. But when I connect the printer to the 48-port switch, the Ethernet light of the printer and the switch port does not turn on and does not show any reaction. The commands for the 24 and 48 switch ports are similar. I removed poe from one of the 48 port switches. Now the printer is connected with a one-meter patch cord, but when I connect a 10-meter cable to it, it disconnects again. The cable is also healthy. It seems that it is very sensitive to length, but I don't know why. I don't know if the problem is with the printer or the switch. Please help me. Thankful

Hello,

Does the printer work on other ports on the 48 port switch. Could be a bad port issue. Are you using PoE to power the printer? YOu can try to run the command:

show power inline

to see if its supplying or giving any power

Ports have PoE enabled by default. In this case, the printer does not work on any of the 48 ports. Meanwhile, I have connected the printer to AC power with a power cable. But when the command
power inline never
I wrote to one of the ports, the printer connected and the ethernet lights came on. But it connects only when I put the printer close to the switch! When I take the printer to another room (its cable is about 50 meters), it is disconnected again. To ensure the cable path, I connected it to a laptop and the laptop's Ethernet light turned on!

Strangely, when I put 24-port switch instead of 48-port, everything is fine

Hello,

check if the debug commands below are available, and post the output:

debug condition interface GigabitEthernet x/x
debug ilpower event
debug ilpower controller
debug ilpower powerman

Can you explain more?
