Hello,
I am trying to connect a PoE Ezviz IP Camera to my Catalyst 3560 Switch and there is no power at the device. I assigned power inline auto in the specific port and I have got the following outputs:
Interface Speed Local pair Pair length Remote pair Pair status
--------- ----- ---------- ------------------ ----------- --------------------
Fa0/30 auto Pair A 0 +/- 2 meters Pair A Open
Pair B 0 +/- 2 meters Pair A Open
Pair C N/A Pair A N/A

I have enabled cdp in both switch and interface and disabled the PoE function to the rest ports.
I also assigned watt consumption to 7000 (while camera consumes less than 7W) but still no power.
any ideas?

Make sure your switch supports the same POE type as the camera there are a few IEEE standards , if cameras running something switch doesn't support it wont power up
802.at and 802.af
- Also check the link below for troubleshooting :

- Yeah ,those ---SHORT-- messages in the logs make me worry that it is a compatibility issue. I was indeed going to suggest to look at the full data sheet of the camera's to get the necessary info. You may need to contact their support if any and ask if the camera can work with your CISCO switch-type.

Ok, then hopefully you didn't toast it.... ! (and or the ethernet interface....)

Yes this is true pal!
A quick question. Do you believe if I add a external POE injection device (with 2 separate cables - one rj45 cable and micro USB cable) and connect it with my cisco PoE switch port, would achieve to give power? (without any harm)

- I have no experiences with such a setup but I have my doubts concerning consistency and validity.
